The town
centre evolved northwards from the dock area and is an interesting
mixture of old and new buildings. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through
today's Ipswich town centre. It entails much more than just a
pleasant walk, it is an architectural feast that illustrates the
town's culture and trade throughout the centuries. Here is an
opportunity to follow in the footsteps not only of the Anglo-Saxons,
but also of such historial figures as Cardinal Wolsey, Charles
Dickens and Lord Nelson.
